Monday June 28th
June 28, 1836 was a Tuesday.
My dearest Henry, I am more than half sorry
that I promised to write to day I have had
two bad nights and my nerves are not in a
very composed state. I will not trust myself
to say anything now about your leaving me
all alone. I hope in time to feel that it is
all right custom reconciles us to many things
which at first seem unendurable. We have
to day had our first glimpse of sunshine
yesterday was cold and dreary. I did not
send the little boys to church. To day
we have had a cat scene which has not
tended to add much to my composure but
I will leave have a description of it for Augustus
