Mendham May 10th 1838
My Dear Brother,
I received your favor a day
or two since and meant to have written
yesterday but the time passed on before
I had the opportunity.
I have the gratification to inform
you that
better this morning it is now more
than three weeks since she was taken
during ^which^ I have been excited by hopes.
and fears . Yesterday she seemed to sink
down fast, and inflamation of the head set
in she has a very sore mouth and blisters
on the th side of the neck and back
contributed to her indisposition.
But she appears much better this
morning and I am in hopes that she will
continue to mend.
I am glad to hear that you are coming
out of your way to see us
