My dear Jennings,
Write to Rathbone
previous letter for the Burgess
I wrote you that I had written to Mr Duer
in regard to Ogden’s
until you have the answer to my letter to Mr
Duer. If it comes to me I will attend to it with
Mr Van Hall
A day more will determine several matters, es-
pecially will decenable me to decide when I go
West. Meantime you may retain the lists & descrip-
tions of Wild lands
It will scarcely be worthwhile to have a
quarrel with Gen Farnsworth
right in the whole matter. If matters result differently
at Utica from what you wish you may still close
upon my former proposition. If as you wish this
will be a new exaction to which I suppose I
must submit. No charge is heard from in regard to
that circumstance, but it will be decided today
and you will know it a day after [ reciing ]
