I have just arrived, and shall go tomorrow evening to see Mr
Duer
Shall decide here what is to be done on the subject of a_.e

All looks better on that subject, and well throughout the state.
The result in Maine has inspired our opponents with hopes
of Pennsylvania of which the first reports of the election are a
signal rebuke.
I will write you tomorrow or before the mail closes which will carry
this. In the mean time I can only say that things look even better from this
central point than I had anticipated.
