Florida 13^th Nov 1839
My dear William Henry
Our family Vault 16 by 24
feet and 9 feet high of the best materials and I presum as
Well built as any in the State was completed this afternoon
and the workman discharged. Edwin Washington & two men
started this morning with a letter to Mr Margarum on the
old farm for the purpose of disintering the remains of our
departed relations at Vernon. M^r Margarum made no ob-
jection to the removal but would prefer their remaining
as it aded respictability to his farm. He had kept the
burying plot in fine repaire much to his credit.
They returned this evening with the bones and
other remains of five persons viz, Father Seward
brother Israel two of the Col. children and one of Fannys
in a large Mahogany coffi[ n re ] paired for the purpose
and have just intered them as the first incumbents of
the house of all living[ . ] It was a solemn occasion.
Now it remains to remove the remains of a Mother
father in law Mother in law two daughters several
Grand children T. Swezy Esq &c. On this Solemn and
interesting occasion it would be most grattefying to
have you Frances and the children present. I
have Written to Jennings but have as yet receivd no
answer. Am very anxious to know whether he will
be down or not. The season is advancing. The
Weather is now pleasant we have friends in New
Jersey who wish to attend the interment but all is at
a stand untill a difenite time is fixed on by you
and Jennings. Will you dispose of this suspence by
confering with your afflicted brother and letting
us know as soon as possible the result
