Dear Henry
The polls are closed & before
the close of the mail, I have only time
to say that Westfield has given Har-
rison
increased 43
In Portland—214 maj for Har
in 1838—156 Whig—Whig gain—58
From Chautauque (Mayville) we
hear Harrison has 94 majority—on
Governor the Maj'y is 87—7 difference.
In 1838—the whig major was only 20.
whig gain 74.
From Fredonia we hear, only
that at 3 O'clk the whigs were 403
ahead—there will be a whig gain
there equalling any of the above.
More tomorrow
