My dear Father,
I have been confined to my room a few days
with the [ Eresypilas ]

quite well soon.

member that he is an obligor of the bond and therefor cannot
take an assignment thereof. So you will please have George
Grier
the Bond and Mortgage and execute the same and acknowledge
it in due form to be recorded in Livingston County and send
it to Beach
Bond and Mortgage. Deduct the expenses you thus incur
and give us credit for the excess of funds sent you, if any,
stating the amount with a statement of the whole affair.
We are all quite well, except very little scratch
with the influenza. We are almost as deep in building opera-
tions as yourself. Hoping to hear that these warm days bring
you some improvement of health.
I am very Respectfully
Your dutiful son,
William H Seward
We shall draw on you today for seventeen hundred dollars
which we have agreed to loan for you for John Furbush
of Mentz in this County on one hundred acres of land worth
$3400. We are perfecting the title papers and the money will
remain in the Bank until the whole search is perfected but
the bond and mortgage
you pay the money in the Bank of Auburn New Burgh.
One other loan slipped through hands before
my return home, and this $1700 is all of the $5000, which we
can find investment for. The draft on you will be at
the New Burgh Bank as soon as this will reach you.
