Charleston May 4. Friday.
My Dearest Frances,
Your letter of Monday evening came to
me yesterday after I had written to you.
I have written daily, but my letters were
all addressed to Philadelphia. My cause called
yesterday, begin today as I will not doubt that
I may finish it tomorrow, so as to set my face
homeward MoMonday. I shall inquire for you
tomorrow by telegraph if I do not learn your
whereabout by letter-
