Auburn August 9th –
My dear Son,
I sent you one day last
week a Bounty Land Warrant – Fred
(who came home Saturday) says “write to
Gus not to part with his warrant as the
land will become more valuable every year”
Many persons sell these warrants rather
than take the trouble to keep them and
often with the advice of Lawyers who magnify
the difficulties which attend the securing
the land – This Fred says is in reality
a very simple process – Keep yours
until we see you – I believe you are
permitted to locate it yourself – The adjournment
is at last fixed for the 31st – but I
am not able to tell what I shall do
until I hear from your father
