My dear Son,
I should have written some days
ago but I have been ill again, as Fred
has told you if you saw him – I now
down stairs again, at the table with the
family– As Fred may have missed
you I will tell you he left us Thursday
morning expecting to be in Noon Friday–
We found the family well and have now
the house in tolerable order–
I have one letter from Aunty
writes that Aunt Clara

can very easily come to Washington
if you prefer it– do you?–
Mr Schoolcraft

endeavor to have Uncle George
and Unc Aunt Julia
visit, that they may have the benefit
