Auburn, June 15th 1853–
My dear Uncle,
I wrote to you about a week
ago and addressed my letter to the Astor
House: Since I have not heard from you;
I think it never reached you; I wish to
go to New Jersey in a few day’s; will you
please to send me some money to defray
the expenses of my brothere
Either Augustus Canfield and myself.
I trust my dear Uncle you will not
think me impatient if you have received
my letter & been prevented from answering–
All are well and very uncomfortably
warm. The Spode Vases have come. I
think they are very beautiful and

quite unlikely to be imitated by the
people here.
Your affectionate Niece,
C.C. Canfield.
The
Honorable W. H. Seward.
