Wednesday — Jan 25t
My dear Henry,
I write a line myself this
morning just to let you
see I am able to do so — I
gain strength —& though I seldom
free from pain, when it is not
in my head I feel better
than I did a month ago —
We have exceedingly cold weather –
this morning the mercury is
4 deg. below zero — I hope you
are comfortably in Washington — I
have had many fears about
ice &c — There is a letter from
Mr Baker
Birth: 1816-03-16 Death: 1887-10-02
— another from Rev. Johnson
Birth: 1796-05-21 Death: 1876-02-10

which I do not forward — I
send one from George Grier
Birth: 1802-09-27 Death: 1878-12-20
&
one from J. Rathbone
Birth: 1806-08-03 Death: 1863-09-13
– God bless you
ever your own
Frances
