My dear Fanny
I have proposed that no one
of your letters should remain unac-
knowledged a day. But yesterday
I failed. I had to prepare a paper
larger, more studied and more
comprehensive than the one which we
all worked so hard upon when
I was at Auburn. So I requested
Anna
Birth: 1834-03-29 Death: 1919-05-02
and Frederick
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25
to write to you
for me. To day I have your letter
of the 11th.

I hope you will take all the
time you need with the dentist.
It would be comfortable if your
nerves were no more sensitive than
mine. I still follow up my
nervous system of bathing and exercise.
I dine today with Sir Frederick
Burr
Birth: 1827 Death: 1897-06-03
en famille. And now I
return to my task
Your affectionate father
William H Seward
Miss Fanny Seward
