My dear Father
I telegraphed
Fred
Name: Frederick Seward
Birth: 1830-07-08
Death: 1915-04-25
yesterday to know if
you were intending to come
to Auburn soon, meaning
if such was the case to postpone
our carriage trip to N..Y.
Name: City: New York
County:
State: NY
Country: US
as
it would probably not be convenient
or pleasant for you to come home
and find the family all away.
I am obliged to be in N York
about the 10th of June and it
is now our intention if the weather
is fair to start on the 1st. My
business does not permit me
to be out of daily reach of
the telegraph so I shall keep

close enough to the line
of the rail road to get
my dispatches daily.
Jenny
Name: Janet Seward
Birth: 1839-11-18
Death: 1913-11-09
will remain
in N. Y. a few days and
then return home by rail
unless about the 20 or 25
you should feeling like
joining us in N. Y. and
driving back to Albany
Name: City: Albany
County:
State: NY
Country: US
or Albany or Auburn with
us, which would be a source
of gratification to us all,
or what would be still
more pleasant if we
could go through to
Washington or Baltimore
Name: City: Baltimore
County:
State: MD

and return in the carriage
via Harrisburgh
Name: City: Harrisburg
County: Dauphin County

and the
Susquhanna Vally
but it is doubtfull if I
could be away so long
Your affectionate
Son
