Office of The Executive Board,
Merchants Union Express Co.
Auburn, N. Y., May 26 1868
My dear Father
When I
purchased of the Estate
last fall the last two
lots on Elizabeth Street
I supposed those with the
four lots I had previously
bought took the whole piece
up to the East line, on making
a new survey of the land I
find that there is still left one
lot and a little less thanh
three rods on another lot.
In improveing the other lots
I bought I find it necessary
in order to make my own lots
at all desireable that the improve- ^ments^

should extend to the whole
piece viz Gradeing Street.
Setting out trees, building stone
sewer, new front fences and
sidewalks. I therefore propose
if you are willing to
take the remaining lot and
three rods at the same
price as the last lots I
bought of the Estate viz $1200.
per acre Please let me
Know if this meets your
approbation
Your affectionate
Son
Wm H Seward Jr
On next page I give
you a diagram of the
whole property
