"Mrs. Catherine Louise (Webb) Benton, the widow of Colonel James G. Benton, an ordnance expert, who was one of the earliest military instructors at West Point and who was stationed 15 years at the Springfield Arsenal, died yesterday, in her 88th year, at 101 Mount Vernon Street, where she had come from her home in Newcastle, New Hampshire, to spend the winter.
