Biography

James Burt was the youngest son of Daniel Burt (1716-1805) and Hannah Benedict (1713-1810). "Daniel Burt settled at Bellvale, in Warwick, in 1746. He was one of the most substantial residents or the county, and had a long and honorable public career." James Burt married Abigail Coe on August 15, 1783 and had 6 children with her, including James Burt Jr. who became a prominent Warwick citizen like his father.
