Biography

Dr Gibbons was born and bred, I believe,
in the State of Delaware, and is of Quaker
descent.  He is now between fifty & sixty years
of age, and has been a practising physician
about thirty years.  He came to California
in the early times and has remained ever
since.  He was one of the founders and the
first President of the pioneer medical society
of this state, established in San Francisco;
was once President of the State Medical So-
ciety, and is now head of the Alameda Co.
society.
