Biography

Pauline Pinney Harris was first married to Jared Lewis Rathbone, an associate of William H. Seward's. Rathbone dies in 1845, however, and she was remarried in 1846 to Ira Harris. She has four children with Rathbone: Charles (b. 1836 and dies as an infant), Henry (b. 1837), Anna Pauline (b. 1840 and dies as an infant), and Jared Lawrence (b. 1844) and one child with Harris: Pauline (b. 1850).
