Biography
US Congressman elected to represent New York's 30th District in the US House of Representatives, serving from 1837 to 1841. He studied law and was admitted to the bar likely in the early 1820s. He moved to Allegheny County, PA and later Pike, NY to practice law. He held various local offices and was elected as a Whig to 25th and 26th Congresses (1837-41). He was later affiliated with the Republican Party after its formation. He resumed his law practice at Pike, NY after he left Congress. He moved to Nunda, NY at some point after and died there.
