Biography

Homer Lockwood and his wife, Sally Benedict helped to settle Northern Cayuga County. Their farm "Lockwood farm" was one of the most extensive farms in that part. Homer Lockwood was also the founder of the first school-house in the town and the first academy. He actively promoted the temperance reforms and was also founder of the first Methodist Episcopal Church in that region. He had three children, and lived to the age of 82.
