He was a partner from 1831 to 1832 with Edward Mead and Edwin Adriance in Ithaca NY as MEAD, ADRIANCE & Co. 
He worked c 1840 as a silversmith, jeweler, and watchmaker in Auburn NY and is known to have made pewter goods, as well. 
He appeared on the 1860 census taken at Auburn NY, listed as a jeweler.
He appeared on the 1870 census taken at Auburn NY, listed as a watchmaker.

Cornelius married Harriet Briggs about 1842. (Harriet Briggs was born in 1807 and died in Jan 1881 in Auburn NY.)
