Biography

Samuel Wilkeson, Jr. was a war correspondent who worked in Washington covering the Civil War for the New York Times.  Son of Judge Samuel Wilkeson, who served as Major of Buffalo, New York, from 1836-1837, Sam was a Buffalo native and raised his children there where he was also buried following his death in 1889.
