Biography

Fanny Brigham (nee Risley) was the great-aunt of Olive Risley Seward, the sister of Olive's grandfather Elijah Risley. Fanny and her sister-in-law Sarah Brigham were widows at the time Olive was writing William Henry Seward, and one of them must have been the "Mrs. Brigham" that Olive refers to in her letter in November 1868. She is also likely mentioned in Olive's 1868 letter Wm. H. Seward as the person who attended church with Mrs. Grosvenor.
