Biography

Charles Petit McIlvaine, was made Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Ohio in October 1832. He represented New Jersey in the United States Senate up to the time of his death in 1826.In 1825 he became a Professor of Geography, History and Ethics, as well as chaplain at the Military Academy at West Point.
