Biography
Paolo Veronese was the son of a stonecutter who was apprenticed to painter Antonio Badile (whose daughter Elena he later married) when he was 14. His own career developed in Venice where he was commissioned for various projects for the Ducal Palace. He later held positions decorating churches and villas. His style is similar to Titian. On November 5, 1859, William Henry Seward writes about seeing his works, as well as Titian's and Guido's at the Royal Gallery in Turin, Italy.
