Biography

Sir William Lawrence was born in Cirencester, England, where he became the chief surgeon. In 1829 he became a Lecturer on Surgery. He lectured on surgery for the next 33 years. Prior to this appointment he had lectured on anatomy. He became "Serjeant-Surgeon toHer Majesty the Queen in 1858, and was created a Baronet on April 30th, 1867."
He married Louisa Trevor with whom he had one son and two daughter.
