Biography
Charles Lee Moses was born in Charleston, North Carolina. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Civil War. He was consul in Brunei Darussalam from 1864 to 1867. He was a partner in the American Trading Company of Borneo, and was involved in establishing the colony of Ellena in Kimanis, north Borneo. He was lost at sea on his way to the United States in 1867.
