Mentioned in 18320224FMS_LMW Ann Cary was the daughter of Colonel Richard Cary, of George Washington's staff. She married Richard Cooper (1775-1813), the oldest brother of novelist James Fenimore Cooper and a land agent for George Clarke. After Richard's death in 1813, she married George Clarke, the builder of Hyde Hall. She continued to live in the home with her son and daughter-in-law after her husband's death. But at some point, son George told her to leave.
