Biography

Jenny Lind was a Swedish opera singer, often called the "Swedish Nightingale" for her talents. She ended her stage career at the age of 29 and traveled to the United States at the invitation of P. T. Barnum. She and her husband, Otto Goldschmidt, settled in England where they proceeded to have three children. She gave occasional concerts for years but never returned to the opera.
