Third wife of George A French. Sarah married George on January 8, 1852. They visit Frances and William Seward in Washington DC in 1852. Frances describes the visit in a letter to her sister Lazette written January 15th, 1852, "Henry brought home a Mr Mrs French of Dunkirk to dinner– very nice, plain folks." George's outspoken abolitionism would have likely increased his welcome by the Sewards.
