Biography

He, along with Elbert White, Hickford Marshall and Seth S. Cook (all of Stamford, Connecticut) obtained a patent on March 16, 1852. The patent "US8815A" was for improvements on jack-chain machinery. An earlier patent was already processed in 1851 by George Kellogg and Charles Atwood for jack-chain machinery so they filed suit against Bostwick and White for patent fraud. Bostwick and White enlisted William and Clarence Seward's advice on their trail which took place in September 1852.
