This actress was known by many names and recorded by Fanny Adeline Seward in her 1861-1862 diary as Miss Ada Parker. Other titles include: Mrs. Barker, Mrs. Madison, Mrs. H. P. Grattan. She did not go by her maiden name McPhain in America. Ada was married three times, first to a Mr. Barker/Parker, second to a Mr. Madison, and finally to playwright and actor Henry Plunkett Grattan in 1850 in New York City, NY. Their marriage did not last very long and Henry Grattan returned to England while Ada remained an actress in the USA.
