Biography
George Cameron Hubbell was the son of Walter Seymour and Mary (Chapin) Hubbell. In a letter written by Frances Chesebro to her cousin Augustus Henry Seward, dated May 1, 1872, Frances recounts how George died by accidentally shooting himself while duck hunting. She recounts how he was only eighteen years old, which corroborates with birth and death dates recorded in the Hubbell Family Papers Finding Aid at the University of Rochester River Campus Libraries.
