Biography

Born to a wealthy family in Northern Ireland, Colonel George Fleming fought for independence in the Revolutionary War, slowly gaining leadership roles in the Military. After surveying land in Western New York, Fleming settled in the area of Cayuga Lake, and later died in what is now known as Fleming, NY, named after Fleming himself for his strides in the settlement of Western New York.
