Biography

Born in the Catskill region of New York State, John D Park moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1841, opening a retail drug store with Benjamin F. Sanford. Their business together soon expanded, and they became sales agents of patent medicines in the region. However, in a letter from Sanford to Frances Miller Seward in 1851, the termination of their business partnership is revealed. This prompted the creation of "John D. Park & Sons," which expanded Park's position in the Drug industry, and allowed him to become a principle figure of his field in the Mid-western region.
