Biography

Everett L. Baker was born in Buffalo, New York, on January 10, 1829. He was educated at the Auburn Academy, graduating in 1844. He studied piano and organ in Buffalo while working at his father’s hardware business. Baker was a composer and music teacher in the Buffalo public Schools for many years. He played piano and organ at several churches in the city of Buffalo. Baker died on February 6, 1886, and is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erie County.
