Willis Sittser (the son of John and Abigail Sittser) grew up in Cayuga County. HIs father is listed as a farmer on the 1850 census and he was a farmer in Brutus, Cayuga County. He appears in a 1861 letter as William Henry Seward Jr informs his father that Sittser had paid his full balance plus interest (which was $3,719 dollars). He and his wife Emily Sittser had several children: Clarra, Charles, and John.
