Biography

Almedia was born to Edwin N. Upham and Mary Desire Kimberly in Sherburne, NY. Her siblings are Marietta and Charles E. (born in 1852 and 1856 respectively). Before she married William Asa White Lyman in 1866, she was mentioned as a close friend by Fanny Adeline Seward in her 1862-1863 diary. Almedia and William lived in Sherburne together before moving to Auburn. They seemingly had three children born during the 1870s: Frank, Ada, and Charles (inferred from census records). She died in Auburn after her husband, who died in 1913.
