Auburn, June 21st 1835.
Dear Friend. We where all very glad to hear from you last night
as we had been expecting a letter some days, I say we because I include
my self as one interested in your health as much as most of your relations
I am very sorry that your health is not more improved than it
is, I very much fear that your Journey will not have the desired
benefit that has so anxiously been wished for by all your friends
I have been sewing at your house four days last week,
I should have gone sooner, but I have not been very well for some
days, so that I did not leave home at all. I have made Marias

dresses for her which she feels proud enough off. Augustus
Birth: 1826-10-01 Death: 1876-09-11
thinks his
clothes will be very pretty when they are done, if I would make them
without his trying them on he is a very good boy to be left so long
without his parents so long a time, he talks about his little brother
Birth: 1830-07-08 Death: 1915-04-25

a g ^r^ eat deal, yesterday he was playing wheighing with two sticks
and kept talking to himself about Freddy, he said now Freddy
you put your hand on there, and I will hold this, and then it
will wheigh wont it. I think he is as anxious to hear from you
as you are from him, last night he had your letter read to him
twice and then he sat and held it a little while, all at once he
started up and left the room. Clara
Birth: 1793-05-01 Death: 1862-09-05
sent for him to come in
soon after but he was no where about, he had had a letter
written for you some days waiting to hear from you to get
directions to send it to you, when he went out of the room he
went up stairs and got the letter, took it to the office and had it
directed by one of the young men, as Mr Beardsley
Birth: 1807-05-30 Death: 1894-01-15
was gone away

when he came in again Clara and his Grandpa
Birth: 1772-04-11 Death: 1851-11-13
wanted him to send
his letter to you immediately but he appeared to be quite unwilling
to send another so soon he appeared to hesitate telling them who had
superscribed it when he did tell his Grandpa did not think he
had done justly right by takeing it to the office when Mr B—
was gone away. Grandma
Birth: 1784-06 Death: 1811-02-22
was quite sick yesterday morning
she was some what better at evening, she sends her love to you
Clara thinks I had better fix that mixed jacket of Augustus's for
he cannot wear it to look very well, it slips up so.
June the 11 we had a very severe hail storm here your white
washed trees look henpecked enough, it knocked off a great
deal of fruit, and broke windows at no small rate,
