Auburn April May 1, 1837.
My dear Jennings,
Tomorrow morning Judge Miller
set out for Albany. The news from below is bluer than
ever – it is a deep blue black.
I hope to be able to relieve Rathbone
I have this day drawn on Chautauqua Bank for five
hundred dollars, payable 20th May. Will you see that
the funds are there.
We go to Orange & Philadelphia. I shall mort-
gage all I am worth if need be to raise the $50,000
and then all will be well.
Pray expedite the abstracts & let me know when I
can have them.
I will write you from Albany.
Faithfully
W.H.S.
