Albany, May 4.
My dear J,
Safe arrived here with Judge M
no immediate cause of alarm for R
not to be known at Batavia.
Found a letter from our father
go directly to him – am going with my good father
in law this afternoon.
I Return in a few days to Albany, where I hope to
find letters from you. Push the abstract through with
all speed and send that & the books by safe hand
to care of J. L. Rathbone
by return mail how soon they will come.
You have no idea of the horrible trouble
in N.Y. They go by 156 20 a day – A Tappan
P. & J. S. Crary etc.
Yours ever
WHS.
