My dearest Henry, I some expect Uncle Cary
so I write a few lines although I have little encourage-
ment to do so from the fate of my previous letters.
Tuesday I received your letter written at Philadelphia
the 18th I had been anxiously expecting to hear from
you a long time. The letters which I have sent to
you directed to the care of Thurlow Weed
have all except one been returned to me unopened
the last was mailed here the 18th and returned the
21st. There is I suppose some mistake about this
but I thought it unavailing to write until I
received some further directions from you. We
are all well. Pa
expecting him hourly. Lazette
spend a few days with Mrs Wright
is dismal rain, rain, rain. The Bishop
day. I think I shall be confirmed, if Uncle Cary does
not come before I return from Church, I will write
more. Your own Frances.
Will you have the goodness to purchase for me 4 or 5 yds
of blue black crape, there is none to be had here but of an
inferior quality.
