January 24, 1839.Auburn January 20th

My dear Aunt, and Cousin
Ma
away. All that Pa
he had received a letter from Uncle Canfield
that Aunt Cornelia died of the Quinsy on Friday evening
the fourth. I went to the theatre Wednesday evening.
After supper Ma told Peter to draw me on the sled to
the theatre but Peter said he would draw me on the
shovel. By and by the time came for me to go to the
theatre and Grandpa
forget which) and Peter took me on his back and
carried me to the theatre. I did not stay till it was out
and when I came out I found Peter ready to carry
me home. When I got home it was about ten o’clock
