Albany Sept. 18th.
My dear Jennings,
Your letter of the 15th. has just been received. Although I have
been a week here I have just arrived. My visit to New York is fixed
for the 24th. and will continue eight or ten days. I think I cannot meet
you at Auburn before a week from the 28th.
(Private)
(We are in the midst of excitement. The pressure in New York ex-
treme. The Country banks have applied for help and now the City Banks
require aid to prevent a suspension. Mr S.

has just gone to New York.
I shall go on Saturday for a week or more.
I do not know that you will meet Marcia
