Dear Henry
Since you are so kind
as to offer to take have a copy ^taken^ of the
picture in New York, I have thought
that it would be less trouble to you
and a pleasure to me, sas you lost
a former copy in the great fire
to order one from the hand of the
same artist.
Your request to have dear

time to think of these tender sub-

occasion you anything else than
regret, that you have done so,
accept my sincere thanks for
your brotherly love & sympathy.
Can I do anything for you in
return?
The Cincinnati matter shall
be as you direct.
I am no way satisfied, as
a matter of business with what I
was able to do in Auburn. But things
were suffering here & are suffering
now, and I hardly knew which
way to bestow my time. I
think now, that I must give
attention to a lot of suits &
unsettled accounts for a
while, & by & by run over
to Auburn, to see what can

be done with the property for
another year.

Your grateful Brother
