Wednesday morning —
My dear Henry,
I was afraid you were ill before I received
your letter — Mr Marvin
as he passed through Albany last Friday but did
not see you — I trust you are much better now if not
do not fail to let me know — I am very busily
engaged in preparing Augustus
will be ready to leave early next week — I will write
again to let you know what day — he has commenced
taking writing lessons and I think promises to improve
I would like to keep him a few days longer on
this account but not unless you think proper —
Freddy
home with his Aunty
Monday — We shall hear to day whether the
report is correct that the Cabinet have all resigned
except Webster

case that Miss Granger will be obliged to descend to the
trivial contemplation of "State politics" — I have
no doubt she has by this time ascertained whether
"Mr Seward is to serve one or two years longer"—
Dont you think I am growing malicious? I shall
put it all down to your account — I write in
haste as I am anxious to have this letter reach
you before Clarence
to put up a dessert fork and dessert spoon
with Clarence's things for Augustus' use at school —
