Dear Lazette,
I have received both of your letters and your nice
present [ . ]
Reason: I intended to have
written to you before this and told you
that I had received the caps and am very much obliged to
you for them[ . ]
Reason: I have not seen any
made like the dress caps here[ . ]

I like it very much though I have not been out lately to see
much of the fashion[ . ]

yesterday went with Mrs. Miller
Christopher Morgan
days she looks as though she felt the loss of her little boy

not go to Albany with Underwood

accept a pardon when he was going to be hung[ . ]

when Augustus comes home it seams as though he had been gone

you must not make much calculation about having Maria
reports are very unfavorable about her they say that [ she ]

Friday I intended to have sent this to-day but you father said
this morning that he should go to Albany tomorrow Mr Underwood
was going down and wanted he should go but he did not exactly
know whether he should go I have been all day geting things
ready he has just came in and says he is not going
I will not send this untill morning I think by that time I shall
finde out whether he goes or not I have not seen Mrs Rite
some time[ . ]
