Wednesday afternoon –
My dear Henry,
Your Father
since you left – until this morning I have
too sick myself to go and see him – I found
with a high fever, exceedingly feeble – but perf[ ectly ]
Reason:
sensible – he wished me to inform you how ill he
though he told me he did not wish you to leave your
business to come home – two days ago he was mor[ e ]
Reason:
alarmed about himself and wished you sent for
He will have no physician – is constantly support[ ed ]
Reason:
by stimulus – This afternoon Julia
down to urge me to write – she thinks his sym[ ptoms ]
Reason:
very unfavourable – says he appears stupid and
has ceased to cough & expectorate as usual
is considered an evidence of the termination of his
disease – I would prefer to detain this letter until
Pa
Reason:
I will write again next mail – Your own Frances
