Auburn June 12^th e– Friday
My dear Sister,
I am not in the least disposed
to take "No" for an answer any more than Bill
Heart was of yore – As for the matter of
clothes Henry expressly told me to see that
you had what you wanted so you
must either get them there and let
him pay the bill or let me know
if I can suit you here any better – Your
expenses of course were included in the
invitation – Now you will find some
other excuse but you had better not
we may never have another opportunity
of going together – rather than disappoint
Henry I have concluded to go and leave
Willie at home with Grandpa – Fanny
I shall take with me but no nurse –
Abbey came last night – she is so glad
to get back and Willie and Fan are so
happy in her company that I hope I shall
be able to over look all her short comings–
Clara left me last Friday- a week
ago- she is now with Mrs Blatchford
I will tell you more about this

on the way to Chicago– Abbey says
Harriet told her that she thought of
going to you in July– have you heard
from her – I cannot tell you
how much trouble I have had about
Henry's going to Albany to live which
I believe he is determined to do– perhaps
it is not decided yet– he has a
very good offer and thinks he should
accept any business that would enable
him to pay his debts– He is only
a visitor at home now– will then
be a less frequent one as he does not
insist upon my going with him– You
will not think strange that I prefer
to remain here– I write a very
hasty letter as I have four to write
this afternoon– You will want a gingham
for traveling and a muslin or silk
or something summer of that nature–
Shall I look for them here– I am
still cleaning house slowly– Ann
who does the kitchen work (not the
Ann I have had all winter) has been
called away to day to care of a sister
just arrived supposed to have the ship
that is the Typhus fever– so I must
try again–

I stept out of the room a moment and when
I came back found Fanny in my chair with
the pen with which she has defaced this
and half a dozen other sheets of paper–
Do write soon and say you will go–
we shall leave about the 28^th– Henry
will be in Canandaigua on business
week after next– he came home from
Albany last Saturday and left again
Tuesday morning for Washington– to
be absent 2 weeks– Augustus examination
commenced last Monday continues two
weeks– Love to Frances —
